Alka Raghuvanshi

Alka Raghuvanshi is Delhi based artist who wears many hats as she is India’s first trained curator, art writer with nearly 20 books to her credit and an artist who has done about seven solo shows in different parts of the world and been part of about a hundred group shows all over the world. Her works were part of the Adana Biennale in Turkey. Her works are in private and public collections both in India and abroad.

There is a magical city where we all live on an aesthetic plane where all is serene and perfection is a state that has been arrived at. This work epitomizes the inherent beauty as there are layers within layers of colours and contexts that entice and compel the viewer to discover further depths. Alka explores the spiritual contexts, with the divine light being the leit motif of her works. The liberal use of metallic colours as metaphors of purity is fascinating as they are aesthetic.
