| Amrut Patel |
| Born in 1947 in Ahmedabad, he got his diploma in Painting in 1968. His works manifest the sublime through sensitive use of few chosen colors, creating a meditative space. The form and color cannot be segregated as the color becomes the form and form isnothing but an energized area of color. He puts the color onto the canvas or paper with a feathery touch such that a calm and clean air pervadesthe pictorial plane. Amrut Patel was initially trained in traditional miniature paintings with all the realistic approaches as well as in textiles, which shows through in the way he handles form, space, texture and color. |
